The Stelvio National Park is one of the largest wildlife sancturies of the Alps. Glaciers and solid rock, high summits with breathtaking views, as well as green forests and torrents form the landscape of the National Park around the Ortles and Cevedale, in which rare plants and wild animals find their habitat.

The difference in altitude of 3000 metres reaches from the valley floor at 650 metres up to the high alpine glacier region. As a result all of the alpine climate zones are to be found. The miscellaneous ecological system enables multiple rare plants and threathened animal species an appropriate wildlife habitat.
